While the search for alternatives to coronavirus continued, olive leaf tea became one of the important agenda items of the scientific world. As researches on the active ingredient (Oleorupin) found in olive leaf deepened, good news came from some universities. Studies have revealed that Oleorupin breaks down the virus. Faruk Durukan, who has been working on olive leaves for more than 20 years in the R&D company operating in Edremit district of Balıkesir, said that the active ingredient in the leaf, Oleorupin, breaks down the covid virus.
ONE OF 15 FACTORS
Speaking to Yeni Şafak, Durukan said: "There is an active substance called Oleorupin in olive leaves. We have been working on this substance for 20 years. We are one of the 4-5 companies in the world that naturally extract Oleorupin from the leaf. This substance has been used extensively in studies on cancer diseases in the past. The interest increased even more after the coronavirus. The scientific world started to focus on the effect of Oleorupin on the virus. Caucasian and Sütçü Imam Universities worked on Oleorupin in the three-dimensional laboratory. We gave the active substance at the request of the Rectorate. The study was completed. It has been visually proved that it destroys the virus by catching the hook structures.

MUNICIPALITIES ARE ALSO INVOLVED
Interest in olive leaf tea started to become institutionalized. Olive leaf tea was among the drinks served in the tea shops of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Many well-known chain cafes have also included olive leaf tea in the form of brewing or shakes. Good results were also achieved in the workplaces that regularly offered their staff olive leaf tea. Olive leaf tea, which was previously used in different workplaces and had an effect on preventing coronavirus, was also applied in Ayfar Automotive in Istanbul. A total of 20 employees were caught in coronavirus on 15 November at the factory with three hundred people. Only 5 of them tested positive. Towards the end of the month, the number of patients increased from 20 to 30, and the number of positive cases increased from 5 to 12. The factory, which had 36 patients as of December 2, started drinking olive leaf tea as of this date. While normal tea was canceled at the factory, olive leaf tea was brewed three times a day. While the number of positive cases remained the same on December 16, the number of patients decreased to 24. As of December 21, the number of positive cases fell to one. It was determined that the positive case started to show symptoms of the disease two days after the tea started. Stating that the interest in olive leaves increased after the news, Durukan stated that the leaves that were burned before are now brought to the economy. Durukan "The leaves that were burned before because they pollute the gardens now earn better money than the olives themselves. Our farmers are now using their leaves. Our municipalities are also working on this issue. Our two municipalities asked me to inform the citizens about the fine points of collecting leaves. "The best time is the pruning period. We guarantee purchases to the citizens who collect the leaves."
TRANSMITTERS CANNOT MEET
The interest in the silt leaf delighted the herbalists the most. Serkan Çağrı, who works as a herbalist in Istanbul Merter, said, "Previously, we were selling three or four kilos a month, now it is up to ten kilos per month. We are also a transfer on the side street. If we were on the main street or something, it goes up to seventy kilos. We used to recommend it for diabetics. "It comes and buys it. It is good for immunity. It is a tea that is difficult to keep in volume. It is the product we sell the most after Ada tea."
JAPANES ALSO STUDYED
Selahattin Güvenç, one of the olive leaf producers in Balıkesir, could not finish by counting the benefits of the leaf. Stating that he also sells leaves abroad, Güvenç said, "We did both master's and doctoral studies on the leaf. We have obtained the results that the substance in the olive leaf, Oleorupin, is effective in H1N1 swine flu, avian flu and HIV virus. We sell it in granules. We send them as sheets upon request. In the first years of my production, we sent all of them to Japan. They did scientific work and sent the results. In summary, it was stated that Oleorupin is a powerful antivirus.
